WANTED - ANY CONDITION

Bray MagiTrak or Magi Trak

Film processing machine.

I am creating this fresh new webpage dedicated to my progress in restoring my FULL SIZE Bray Magitrak unit.

It may be the VERY LAST ONE in existence? Who knows.

The ONLY other photo of this machine that I found online was the one with a tractor loader lifting up a Bray Magitrak. I found that photo on big-auction-site. I contacted the seller several times over the years but got no response. The Bray Magitrak on a tractor loader is not my machine - but it is the same model. That one looks complete - it is the VERY BEST picture and most complete unit I have ever seen. Plus it has the NOVELTY of being on a tractor - now you dont see that everyday - do you? (see my gallery of pictures of that unit- which may or may no exist anymore - who knows?)

Here is a text file which is a copy/paste from my other page (which is getting too full due to multiple searches for equipment) It chronicles my purchase, shipping, unloading, searching for parts, communicating with potential sellers, unsuccessful attempts at communicating with fellow users/seller etc.

I have decided to create this BRAND NEW page because the OLD ONE wasnt getting any real results. The communications from those past contacts werent prductive.

I would like to communicate with
1. Sellers of Bray Magitrak Parts/Books/ etc as I am missing some parts and I have no books/manuals/instructions
2. Fellow users of ANY size Bray Magitrak
3. Any leads for nformation about it

My gallery of pictures shows my own unit which was purchased in 2011 approx from SC, USA and shipped to IL, USA at great expense. I purchased from big-auction-site for a measely $150 and shipping was approx $750 by truck LTL

Unfortunately the seller left some openings in the bottom of the wooden crate and a few sprocket gears fell during transport. Also It is missing a rear panel and the magnetic dogbone, missing the loading box, missing some other parts and pieces.

I have never plugged it into AC power.

I am hoping to communicate with someone who has these parts and can take a few photos of the missing items - so I can construct DIY these missing parts or even better yet - buy parts you may have for sale.

I would like to complete my machine. Estimated mfg date 1982 possibly?

I CONTACTED THE MFG AND THEY EMAILED ME THAT THEY ARE A TELESCOPE COMPANY NOW AND CANT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT MY UNIT AND CANNOT SUPPLY ANY PARTS OR DRAWINGS ETC. THEY CANNOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS OR PROVIDE ANY PHOTOS. THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO REPAIR THE UNIT. FILM PROCESSORS ARE NOT WHAT THEY DO ANYMORE. NO AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT I OFFER WILL MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. THEY DONT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH ME OR MY MACHINE.

A real BUMMER.

I havent given up and am making this second attempt at making a webpage. My first one had too much clutter about MANY machines. But this webpage is JUST ONLY about my Bray Magitrak.

I ALWAYS finish my projects. Im not one of those type of people who NEVER finish anything.

Here is my main website
drviragopete.com

I posted my Bray Magi  Trak pics and log of events there but the page got too long and loading times/file size too large which probably affects the viewership.

Some Bray Magi-Traks
1. Full Size
2. Tabletop
3. Medium Size
4. E-6, C-41, etc
5. Mini Micro Size

Mine is the Full Size E-6 unit and I would like to communicate with owner/seller of ANY SIZE or MODEL unit.

My unit is made of light grey Type 1 PVC sheet. It is a chemical resistant/impervious to most chemicals material.
The difference between Type 1 PVC and Type 2 dark grey PVC is brittleness and rigidity. The type 1 PVC used in my very own Bray Magitrak is a very rigid BUT very brittle material.

I have ordered a few square feet of this material (very expensive) to make some parts which were cracked during shipping or missing. I ordered this material from McMaster Carr.

A long time ago I worked for a plastics mfg company and I completed a training course from got a certificate of completion from that training. From that 1 year of working for the local plastics company and my certificate (who knows where it is - long since misplaced) I knew what PVC is and was able to identify the material and order it myself. My fabrication work is very good/neatprofessional and I was able to replicate a missing side of my output loading area (see photos).

I am missing a couple of doors, hinges, panels, sprockets, loading box - If I knew what they looked like - I could make it myself. But I see no other units online.

Fruitless communication with penpals- which fizzle or they dispose of their machines or sell them off ... Or their email stops working. Thats what my past experience was. Dead ends.

I am willing to pay for parts, pictures, drawings, books, videos, instructions etc. Let me know what you have.

So far I have sunk $900 into this machine plus about $200 making the rolling stand by welding. Im willing to spend more $ on restoring this beautiful machine.

I may be the ONLY one who loves this machine.
I have a complete machine shop including CNC and plastic forming equipment - I have the needed skills to make any part.

I am willing to spend money on this project.

Dont throw out your machine or parts or books etc.

I want to process film on it.
